Ed Miliband to Zeteo UK: The UK Will ‘Not Be Bystanders’ Over Palestine

The new foreign secretary, speaking to Zeteo UK’s political editor Shehab Khan at the Labour Party conference, has said he is ‘very serious’ about doing the ‘right thing’ in Gaza and the West Bank.

The UK will “not be bystanders to the suffering in Gaza and the West Bank”, Ed Miliband has told Zeteo UK.

In an interview at the Labour Party conference, the foreign secretary said the government was “very serious” about doing the “right thing” and that it was a matter of principle.

Speaking to Zeteo UK’s political editor, Shehab Khan, Miliband said: “We are not going to be bystanders to suffering and injustice in Gaza, the West Bank and elsewhere. That’s why we announced what we announced, including a ban on the import of foods from illegal settlements and cutting off the supply lines of services for settlement expansion.”
