It is time for Angela Rayner – a government cabinet minister – to apologise to Dalloul al-Neder.

Dalloul is a British-Palestinian man who has suffered unimaginable horror. Dozens of his relatives have been killed by Israel’s Western-facilitated genocide of the Palestinian people.

It is impossible for most of us to process that degree of loss, not least when it has been armed and backed by the country you live in. Imagine having to watch your family being slaughtered from afar over the course of three years, while media outlets constantly justify, whitewash or ignore the butchery.

Dalloul’s suffering has been compounded by something else. Angela Rayner had been his local MP, and was someone he knew. The way she treated him has left a profound mark.
