This Cartoon Is Islamophobic AND Antisemitic – Where Is the Media Outrage?

The Greens have demanded an apology from the Telegraph for its racist cartoon depicting Mothin Ali preparing to eat Zack Polanski’s severed head. But – as usual – the British media is silent.

Shortly after the Green Party’s conference vote endorsing the “Zionism is racism” motion, the Telegraph published a cartoon drawn by Patrick Blower titled “Eat Your Greens”. It depicts the Green Party’s deputy leader, cn visibly Muslim garb, wearing Palestine and “Zionism is racism” badges and preparing to eat the severed head of party leader Zack Polanski, who is depicted with a large hooked nose.

The drawing was unusual only in so far as it managed to fuse two bigotries – Islamophobia and antisemitism – in one image.
